In 2004 while residing in Providence, DOMINIC FERNOW of PRURIENT and Hospital began compiling Like A Frog in Winter, in response to his perceptions that noise had become rather hi-fi, technological, and cold--entertainment rather than entertaining, something clean, something stimulating. Fernow's choices represent a more psychological, minimal, dismal, and rejected feeling, and calls for a return to the fetishistic and erotic attitude of noise--and a negative one at that.
